Woo Jiho To Me

My Block B bias is Woo Jiho, although right now my blog is infected with a chronic case of Park Kyung. Zico is my bias because… well where do I start?

He’s talented, intelligent beyond most fan’s comprehension, driven, passionate, caring, loving, sweet, funny, attractive, sensitive, cute, creative, responsible, and overall fantastic.

I’ll point out a few specific things that I like about him:

Passion

Zico is passionate about his work. There are many instances where he himself demonstrates this attribute, and many instances where the members also talk about it. An extremely good example of his passion for work can be seen in Block B’s Match Up Japan. There was a scene where he was standing in the audience, listening to Kyung and Jihoon’s Strong performance, and he really took control as leader. He gave them constructive criticism, fixed issues with technicalities, and was assertive in his command for them to rehearse it again. He is a perfectionist, and wants every performance, no matter how small, to be the closest to perfection he can possibly make it. He expects 120% from not only himself, but the members as well, and they know that.

Zico is not only passionate about his work, but he passionate about his art. The way he writes his lyrics is peculiar. He is extremely articulate and his diction plays a huge role in the impact of his raps. He comes across amazingly and that is something that I really enjoy about him because he is so young, yet so beautifully talented and intelligent.

Creativity

Zico is not only talented in music, but in the fine arts as well. I really really really like this about him. I’ve been in art for a long time now, and I don’t know, I just feel this special connection to him. Artist to artist. We both went to study art at an arts school in high school, we both love Japan and speak Japanese, and we both know what it’s like to be smart without straight As. Haha. Sounds lame? But it’s true. I can’t express how much I’d really like to do an action painting piece with him. I think doing art together is an extremely intimate gesture. When you are putting down something on a canvas, just like he writes lyrics on a sheet of paper, it is like opening up your insides and letting them all out. I’m curious as to what both of us could produce together. If we ever get the chance to do it, I’ll hang it in my house forever. No joke. It would be my most prized and valued possession.

Lyrics

The content of Zico’s songs really reflect how he feels about life. I mean, many of them are telling the world, “Fuck you, I’m an artist and I’m gonna prove you wrong and become a big star.” I actually really love this message. I feel like we both have a similar belief in the way life works. If you work hard you’ll get anywhere, and no matter how many times life tries to set you back, you just have to get up again and show it that you won’t be defeated. This is true success. And then, when you’re at the top, you can really say to yourself that you did something with your life.

Aegyo Voice

To lighten the serious mood right now, I’m going to talk about my favorite thing evaa, the Woo Jiho supa kawaii voice. ASDFGHJKL; I think you all know what I’m talking about but ohh myy God~ Zico when you do that voice I just melt inside~! Seriously, if he used this on me I’d be the biggest pushover EVER. I mean.. it’s so fucking cute and it doesn’t help that he makes cute facial expressions while he does it and just lkdjsfalkj chuchuchu Zico야 ~ When he said in this interview that the company taught him how to do aegyo because he didn’t know how before, I wanted to punch him the face because YEAH RIGHT. Liar!~ Have you seen your own pre-debut selcas?! Big eyes and kawaii facial expressions! Shut up Zico, you’ve always been cute.

Square Teeth Smile

Now down to the physical aspects of Woo Jiho! This is something that I think is specific to me… because I’ve never met anyone else who feels this way OTL, but I think that little square teeth are the cutest kinds of smiles. I don’t like it when they are too rectangular or too straight. They have to have character~ and Zico’s teeth are adorable! They are like little chiclets of gum omg. When he smiles, his two front teeth are bent a little inwards dklsjfaskldf and he is just so fucking cute omg I DIE. And he gets so chinky and wonderful and just lkjdflakdjsf Woo Jiho why?! /sobbs

Innocence

One thing that I noticed about Zico is that he really doesn’t care about flirting with girls that much. I mean, I know he talks about it like he does, but I think it’s an act. We all know how male idols act around female idols, right? They are all sweet and perform extra aegyo and are extra greasy because “wooo~ it’s a girl” etc. Well.. Zico doesn’t do that… at all. Haha. If anything he is like, “Dude I don’t give a fuck that you’re a girl, you ain’t even my type.” Hahahaha. I remember watching this one episode of Studio C where the girl tried to be cute and imitate him and he threw water at her ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I dunno, I think he’s either just not interested in anyone because he’s focused on his career, or he isn’t lying when he says he wants honey thighs. I mean, girl idols in real life are really really skinny, and they have like a A cup bra size. If Zico is truly looking for a glamorous body, he is almost never going to find it in a girl idol. Not a single girl idol will be enough because their companies would never let them get to Zico’s standards (and almost all Korean girls do not have big boobs. My friend said when I move there, I’m going to have to keep buying my bras from America because they won’t have my size OTL. The biggest bra in Korea is a C cup…).

Sincerity and Responsibility

I don’t want to bring up topics that make us sad, but I think this is important and plays a really big role in my feelings for Zico. When the Thailand incident happened, Zico took it head on. I’ve never seen an idol, or even a human being in general, do that. He got out there and he made it clear that he was sorry. He really did. He took responsibility as a 19 year old boy. That is more than over 99.9% of the adult world could ever say for themselves. Zico was not a coward. He didn’t even try to make up excuses, he just accepted it and faced the issue. I admire him so much for this. I’m getting teary eyed while typing that’s how much I love him for this.

Do you know how many people would come up with excuse after excuse and never admit their wrong doings until they’ve made a complete and total fool out of themselves? Too many. Everyone in Korea always criticizes Zico for being a “양아치”or “thug” because he uses slang and the fact that he is a rapper makes his image obscure. But Zico is more of a man than any of them could ever say they are. My feelings for him amplified after this. One day, I want to tell him how amazing he is.

Genuine

“On TV, Off TV, I’m the same person. I think that’s one of my strong points.” - Woo Jiho

I think so too. I love that he is genuine. I don’t have to worry about how my oppa acts off screen because he is the same person no matter where he is. I can actually say that I know him without worrying about what a company made him into using scripts and attitude lessons. Zico is Zico. Always. He is true to himself and others.

Value

Zico values his friends and family. On top of it all, he values Block B. They are his pride and joy. Many people try to say that Zico could be a better solo artist, or that Block B is nothing without him, but if they knew anything they’d know that Woo Jiho is nothing without Block B. He loves his band mates. They are his best friends in the whole world. He will look after and care for them until the ends of the earth. When they did the Japanese solo interviews, and Zico went to Lotte World by himself, the number one thing he kept saying, was, “I wish the members were here. They are missing out on so much.”

So I really hate it when people say stuff like Zico is the only member that matters because that’s not how he feels. You might think you’re complimenting him, but you’re not. Zico values every member and he loves them and it shows. He’s a wonderful leader.
